Inclusive Infrastructure for Today and Tomorrow

The annual Fall Conference of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association (TAPA) will be co-hosted by the Tennessee Section of the Institue of Transportation Engineers (TSITE). This three-day conference will be an excellent opportunity for practicing planners and engineers as well as citizens, students, and elected and appointed officials to attend technical sessions, network, socialize, and learn from each other about the fields of planning and engineering and their intersection in our communities.

TNAPA

The Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association (TAPA) is a professional organization of over 500 members representing city, county, and state planners and related professions across Tennessee. The mission of our organization consists of three bullet points:

  • Offer professional leadership and resources for the development of inclusive, livable communities across Tennessee by providing up-to-date training programs on current planning issues
  • Provide professional development opportunities
  • Advocate for a highly qualified and diverse network of professional planners

The Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association helps carry out the mission of the APA for planning professionals who live and work in the Volunteer State. Officially founded in 1979, hundreds of members from the peaks near Mountain City to the river bluffs of Memphis work together to advance the planning profession in our state. TAPA is divided into five sections across the state: West Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and State of Franklin.

If you're interested in planning in Tennessee, you should become a member of TAPA. We offer two ways to join: a stand-alone Tennessee Chapter only membership, as well as a membership with APA National as well.
