Bert has over 25 years of experience in the field of transportation and infrastructure planning in both public and private sectors. In his capacity as City Transportation Engineer for Chattanooga, TN, and Transportation Design Manager for Birmingham, AL, he served as the primary agent for multiple city transportation plans, city-wide bicycle and pedestrian implementation plans, transportation standards, grant applications, and transportation project design and construction. He has served as a planning and engineering consultant to counties, cities/towns, and neighborhoods for dozens of transportation system, multimodal network, and complete street implementation projects.

Bob has over 30 years of experience in planning and community development at the regional, county, and municipal levels including substantial practice with private sector development. He has served as a teacher and mentor at the university level, as an advocate for disadvantaged and minority communities in both professional and private life, created successful private/public partnerships for redevelopment, and successfully implemented nationally recognized and award winning place making principles.
